ART and PEACE Lecture & Workshop in Mongolian State University of Arts and Culture

On 28th of February and 1st of March 2018 Prof. Masaru Tanaka and Ms. Kayo Onozuka had carried out “Art and Peace” lecture and workshop at Mongolian State University of Arts and Culture. 67 people including students and teachers of MSUAC had participated. This lecture and workshop was organized as an activity of ART and PEACE Workshop with the members of ALIA (Asian League of Institutes of the Arts), in order to be published on the common-use textbook of ALIA which is now under editing.

Mongolia has declared and adopted by United Nations as “Nuclear Free Zone” in 1992. Also, Mongolian State University of Arts and Culture is one of the 6 national universities in Mongolia, to be the largest art university in the state.

 

In the lecture and workshop, which was organized for 2 days, students from the School of Music Arts, School of Dance Arts, School of Culture, School of Fine Arts and Design, School of Broadcasting and Media Arts, School of Theatre Arts has participated. In the workshop, participants created a poem and collage art work in groups with a title “A Poem Bouquet for You ―The Fort of Peace―”, based on the theme of preamble of UNESCO Constitution. After the lecture, each participant made one phrase of poem, then brought them into one poem in a group, and created a collage art work based on this poem. Every participant made very original presentations, making use of their professions, such as improvisation or a song of Khoomii.
